Upcoming Rail Tours:
I am offering two iterations of Discovering Switzerland:
April 14-26 and April 28-May 10. We'll use a first-class Swiss Pass for all transportation. I'll use hotels that are right across
from the station, which is the nice part of town in Switzerland. There are no one-night stands. The program is two nights in St.
Gallen and three nights each in Chur, Brig, and Brugg. Meals: dinners are included the first night in a town (the last night in
Brugg-- and I can suggest places for the first and second nights there). This means you don't have to look around for a place to
eat or for someone to translate the menu for you. Speaking of which, I can speak the local language. Breakfasts are included in
the price; lunches (except for luncheon on the Glacier Express) are not.
Any time you want do something different from what the group is doing, that’s okay, and I can even help you plan your, um, deviation.
Advantages of a group tour: Someone else has made the arrangements. There is someone to talk with at dinner.
Advantages of train travel: No one has to watch the road, let alone for road signs in a foreign language. Train windows are huge and can usually be opened.
Price is $3595 plus air fare for singles, $3195 per person plus air fare for couples and others sharing a room.

For 2011, I am planning an around-the-world trip for two friends in suburban Denver - May 6-June 7: Japan; across Russia from Vladivostok to Moscow; Prague; Filisur, Switzerland; Amsterdam; Britain. Steve (one of those friends) has described it as his bucket-list trip. I haven't calculated the price yet.
